Smoke billows from an oil well fire near Hayden. A propane tank explosion is thought to have ignited the fire, which is contained to the surface.

Hayden-area fire burns 14,000 gallons of oil
A fire Thursday morning consumed more than 14,000 gallons of crude oil on the surface of a well site east of Hayden. West Routt Fire Protection District Chief Bryan Rickman said the fire was reported around 7:30 a.m. by Hayden resident Randy Booco, owner of Booco Contracting.
