Steamboat Springs resident Don Platt finished his fifth Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run on Saturday in Silverton, completing the grueling 100-mile race in 45 hours. Platt started strong Friday, crossing Maggie Gulch 15 miles into the race with Canby Peak in the background.

Steamboat Springs Betsy Kalmeyer completed her ninth Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run on Saturday in Silverton. Kalmeyer ran over Stony Pass, pictured here near mile 13, and then completed the steep race in 36 hours as the fourth-fastest female.
