Election Day is one of my favorite days of the year, and not only for the obvious democratic reasons. There's seldom another night when the newsroom feels as alive as it does on the first Tuesday of November.
I was one of an estimated 63 million viewers of Tuesday night's presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain. And I'm sure I wasn't the only one who walked away from the TV frustrated after 90 minutes of back-and-forth debate that failed to impress.

Spring is a funny season in Routt County. The ski mountain closes, and a number of local shops and restaurants follow suit, if only for a couple of weeks to re-energize before the summer tourism season kicks off.

I like to give City Editor Mike Lawrence a hard time about our content on Page 2 of the Wednesday Steamboat Today. You see, Lawrence was a bit skeptical when we moved Joanne Palmer's column from the Sunday Style section to a more prominent spot in the daily paper.
