The Steamboat Springs Art Council celebrated its 35th anniversary, and got new leadership with Marion Kahn, who started as executive director in March. In the past few months, the Council has collaborated with galleries and businesses throughout Steamboat to put together the town's First Friday Artwalk, which in December had 14 participating venues.

The Steamboat Ski Area announced Thursday that 1998 Olympic gold medalist Jonny Moseley has signed on to represent the area in a number of different roles. Moseley, who is often seen as a pioneer who has pushed the sport of freestyle skiing to new levels, will represent Steamboat at special events, make public appearances and participate in media events during the season. At 1 p.m. today, Moseley will be Billy Kidd's special guest and will meet and ski with the public. The skiers will meet at the top of the gondola.

Harrington said there still were 30 or 40 cows grazing on Thorpe Mountain that he needed to get moved down to the valley. The annual late fall chore requires him to move hundreds of cows.

Dave Gittleson with Sunshine Mountain Auto pulls an overturned vehicle toward the road Thursday morning. Slick conditions caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle on Routt County Road 129. Colorado State Patrol Trooper Tonya Cowan said the juvenile driver incurred only minor injuries and did not need to be transported to the hospital. Another car went off the road about 30 feet away from this one Thursday morning. That driver also was not injured.
