The pools and water slide that have been a part of the Old Town Hot Springs for decades have been removed as part of a $3.5 million renovation project. On Thursday, engineer Hal Schlicht and general contractor Chris Perkins were touring the site and checking out its conditions.

Martin Ilott, a veterinary surgeon from England, takes a break from his 3,084-mile, trans-America jog earlier this month outside of Duchesne, Utah. Ilott reached Craig on Thursday, and expects to reach Steamboat Springs at about 7 p.m. today. Ilott is making the run in memory of his father, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2003.
