Ski area officials say the new Sunshine Express high-speed quad lift will be operational by mid-December. Steamboat's other four-person lifts will receive similar red-and-yellow paint jobs in the future.

With just 18 days until the 2006-07 ski season officially begins, Steamboat Ski Area representatives say capital improvements that began this summer are on schedule.
