Doug Stewart, 54, of Sterling, passed away Jan. 28, 2013, in Greeley.
Doug was born July 19, 1958, in Ponca City, Okla., to Ronald and Opal (Lindsay) Stewart. He graduated in 1976 from Soroco High School. He was a truck driver for Platte Valley Freightways from 1987 to 1990, V-Y Livestock Transport from 1990 to 2004 and Dallas Langley Trucking from 2004 until his death. He was married to Cindy Struckmeyer from Feb. 11, 1989, through March 2012. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and spending time with family and friends.
Doug is survived by his son, Darren, and fiancee, Lexi Lively; daughter, Shannon; brother, Steve Stewart and wife, Suzanne, of Sterling; sister, Roni Sue Stewart, of Granby; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Mark Stewart; parents Ron and Opal; and nephews Westyn Struckmeyer and Blane Stewart.
Visitation was from 3 to 7 p.m. Jan. 31 at Tennant Funeral Home. A funeral was at 10 a.m. Feb. 1, 2013, at Tennant Funeral Home with Pastor Al Strauss officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery.
