Larry P. Benton, 71, of Steamboat Springs and formerly of Valencia, Pa., died Oct. 17, 2012, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Twp, Pa.
He was born March 22, 1941, in Kittanning, Pa.
Larry was a self-employed entrepreneur, an avid road cyclist and a member of Toast Masters International.
Larry is survived by his wife, Jean McGeever Benton, whom he married April 1, 1967; a daughter, Mikie Benton, of Valencia; and three sons, Jay Benton, of Steamboat, Andy Benton, of Park City, Utah, and Tom Benton, of Hilo, Hawaii.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Larry’s life was Oct. 27, 2012, in Pennsylvania. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 28, 2012, at St. Kilian Church in Mars, Pa. Tom McMeekin will officiate.
