Clayton C. Kuegler

Hayden

August 13, 1959 - October 21, 2012

Clayton Christopher Kuegler passed away peacefully at Yampa Valley Medical Center on Oct. 21, 2012. Clayton (Clay) was born Aug. 13, 1959, to William and Lorene Kuegler in Port Washington, N.Y. Clay was the youngest of four boys. Eventually, the family moved to West Palm Beach, Fla., where Clay attended Florida Central Academy and Palm Beach Community College.
After pursuing his education, he moved to Denver, where he met his wife of 27 years, Kathy Kuegler. They raised two children together. The family moved to Hayden in 1989, and he worked for Yampa Valley Sound Co. in Steamboat Springs for 23 years as an audio/video technician. Clay was very passionate about people and all things dear to him. This quality helped him develop strong, close friendships throughout his years. He enjoyed golfing, attending concerts, model railroading, and rifle and pistol sporting competitions. He spent much of his time collecting and educating himself about coins and stamps. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and many others.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons Kyle Kuegler, of Grand Junction, and Ryan Bussard and wife, Sabrina, and their daughter, Jayde, also of Grand Junction; half-brothers Bill Hegeman (Carmen), Dan Hegeman (Lynn) and Rick Hegeman; and stepmother Edith Kuegler, of West Palm Beach. Clay is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lorene Kuegler.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 2 at Yampa Valley Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Mahogany Ridge Brewery & Grill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Clayton C. Kuegler Fund, in care of Yampa Valley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 776090, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477.
