Les George Hukriede III

Former Steamboat Springs resident Les George Hukriede III died May 7, 2012, at the age of 43.
Les lived 18 of his last 20 years in Montrose and Steamboat, where he enjoyed skiing in the winter and golfing in the summer. Les loved all sports and was a trivia buff who could answer sports questions dating back 100 years. Les loved encouraging young people to participate in sports at all times.
Les is survived by his mother, Carol Heiner, and stepfather Gary, of Emporia, Kan.; his father, George Hukriede, and stepmother Cathy, of Garden Grove, Calif.; his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Evlyn Hukriede, of Steamboat; his brother and sister-in-law Scott and Ricklyn, of Long Beach, Calif.; and his grandmother, Betty Harrison, of Midway City, Calif. He especially loved his nieces Melissa Hukriede-Antonacci and Andrea Hukriede and nephew Tom Hukriede, of Steamboat Springs, and his great-niece Charlotte Antonacci.
A private memorial will honor Les.
