Charlene Joan Stieduhar

unknown - February 16, 2011

Charlene Joan Stieduhar passed as she lived, courageously and caringly as she succumbed to her struggle with cancer Feb. 16, 2011.
Born in Denver to James and Edna Wilson, Charlene grew up in Steamboat Springs, graduating in 1951 from Steamboat Springs High School. As a young woman, she worked at the J.C. Penney store and the Chief Plaza Theater.
In 1954, she married her teenage sweetheart, “Nick” Stieduhar, of Oak Creek, following his return from military service. Charlene and Nick later moved to the Denver area, where they raised three children. She was an energetic, patient and nurturing mother and wife who loved to spend time with and do things for her family. Throughout her life, she passed along her sense of humor, love of art, music and nature to those who loved and knew her, and she always showed kindness to the children in her family.
She remained active up to the time of her illness, line dancing several times a week at the Wheat Ridge and Arvada recreation centers.
Charlene is survived by her husband of 57 years, Nick; sons Keith and George; daughter, Linda; sister, Norma; and seven grandchildren. A gathering to celebrate her life is from noon to 3 p.m. March 6 at the Arbor House at Maple Grove Park, 14600 W. 32nd Ave. in Golden.
