James C. Wells was born July 13, 1947, in Great Falls, Mont. He died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, in the company of his loving wife.
James was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and one of his daughters.
James served his country in both the Navy and the Army.
He treasured the time he spent with his grandson, Sean Kilgore, participating in the Special Olympics. He also enjoyed bowling and the many friends that he had.
He was adored by his family, which he loved so much.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Wells; son Gary Kilgore (Jerusha), of Grand Junction; daughter Erica Horvath (Lamonte), of Silt; six grandchildren; sisters Cathy Harder (Brian), of Westminster, Sandy Cox (Howard), of Slater, Mo., and Cherie Hartzel (Eric), of Higginsville, Mo.; brothers Terry Wells (Ann Marie), of Higginsville, Mo., and Carl Wells (Barbara), of Odessa, Mo.; and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial service took place Nov. 16, 2010, at the Grant Mortuary Chapel with Karen Gibson officiating.
Military honors were performed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265 and the American Legion Post 62.
