Stella H. Davidson

Former Steamboat Springs resident Stella H. Davidson, 89, passed away Nov. 30, 2010. Stella was born in Wilkes Barre, Penn., on April 19, 1921, and was married to Harry Davidson. She led an active life. In addition to her full-time employment, she attended Ashburn Presbyterian Church in Ashburn, Va., and was the choir director for the adult and children’s choir for many years. Later, she volunteered for the Steamboat Arts Council. In her final months, she wrote restaurant reviews in the monthly publication “The Senior Scene” in Santa Fe, N.M. Stella will be sorely missed by family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry T. Davidson, of Ashburn; and her daughter Jessie Smith, of Bergton, Va.
She is survived by her daughter Janet Miller (Leonard), of New Castle, Neb.; daughter Alma Brown (Robert), of Berryville, Va.; daughter Stella Donahoe, of Santa Fe; daughter Lauretta Monger (Douglas), of Hayden; daughter Karen Grimes (Terry), of Fort Valley, Va.; son Harry Davidson (Lisa), of Ashburn; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charities aiding public school lunch programs or to charities benefiting animals.
