Marie Turner, formerly of Mount Harris and Hayden, passed away May 3, 2008, at Sand Rock Ridge Rehabilitation and Care Center in Craig. She was 88.
Marie was born Sept. 21, 1919, at Curtis Gulch, south of Milner. She was one of seven children born to "Coke" and Daisy Rutherford. She grew up in Mount Harris and attended grade school there, and she went to high school in Hayden.
On April 1, 1937, she married "Boe" Turner. They lived in Mount Harris until the coal mine closed. She loved hunting and was an excellent marksman with firearms. Marie was devoted to her family and an excellent homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice Ward of Savery, Wyo.; brothers Frances Rutherford and his wife Doris, of Craig, and Leonard Rutherford of Huntington Beach, Calif.; 11 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband "Boe," daughter Frances Dee, and sons Randy John and Chuck.
A memorial service is planned for Marie and Chuck at 11 a.m. June 28 at the Hayden Congregational Church in Hayden.
