Michael Lee Medina passed away at Children's Hospital in Denver on June 9, 2008. He was 4 years old.
Michael was the son of Dominick and Lisa Medina of Yampa. He was born Feb. 19, 2004, in Denver rather than in Alamosa, where his parents lived at the time, because of a heart defect found before he was born. He was very active, enjoying the outdoors in summer and winter, driving his fire engine around Grandpa's store and running and playing with his sisters.
In the past 10 months - most of which were spent at Children's Hospital - his greatest loves besides his family being with him were the movies "Cars" and "Toy Story." He especially enjoyed hours putting puzzles together and building with Legos. His family's joy is that he was able to be home for a time to spend Christmas and his birthday with them.
Michael is survived by his parents, Lisa and Dominick Medina of Yampa; two sisters, Bryanna and Isabel; grandparents Ken and Cindia Montgomery of Yampa, and Elvina and Joe Medina of Sanford; great-grandmother EvaLee Whitecotton of Yampa; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly.
Michael, you're so wonderful to think of, but so hard to be without. We'll miss you and love you forever.
