Barbara Ann Poulson-Bostock

December 12, 1928 - May 28, 2008

Barbara Ann Poulson-Bostock of Grand Junction passed away May 28, 2008, peacefully in her home. She was 80.
Barbara was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Steamboat Springs to Frances and Thomas Wesley Poulson. She married Dale L. Bostock on Aug. 28, 1947, in Steamboat Springs. Barbara and Dale made their home on 12th Street in Steamboat until 1994, when they relocated to Grand Junction.
Barbara enjoyed horses, cooking, camping with her grandkids and saying grace at family gatherings. Her door was always open to family and friends; she welcomed everyone with a warm smile and a kind heart.
Barbara loved a crowded dinner table with the noise of family and friends reminiscing old times and making new memories. Barbara found the good in all people and enjoyed life to the fullest. Her philosophy included the saying, "pretty is as pretty does."
She never ran out of love and kindness, only cookies in the cookie jar! She had a lot of patience, especially for her grandchildren, as they spent countless hours running in and out of her little white house. She was a strong, independent person who had a hard time riding in the backseat, as she preferred to be behind the wheel. She was the best backseat driver in the family!
One of her favorite places was Buffalo Pass. She, Dale and their family spent many weekends sitting around a campfire loading willow sticks with gooey marshmallows and hot dogs.
Barbara is survived by her lifelong friend and husband, Dale of Grand Junction; daughter Janice (Tom) Thompson of Walden; son Gary Bostock of Phippsburg; grandson Delbert (Shannon) Bostock of Oak Creek; granddaughter Brenda (Chad) Brown of Rand; granddaughter Christina (Chris) Kent of Kilene, Texas; granddaughter Lisa Hogue of Steamboat Springs; and three great-grandsons, Michael and Lorren Bostock and Aiden Kent.
She will be remembered as a woman who loved her family and friends very much and that love will go on through her friends and family for years to come. As Barbara said, "It has been a great journey."
Services are at 11 a.m. June 2, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Steamboat Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara's name to National Jewish Medical and Research Center, Attn. Memorial Department, 1400 Jackson St., Denver, CO, 80206.
