Gerald "Jerry" McGuire passed away May 15, 2007, at Wesley Woods Care Facility in Waco, Texas. He was 95.
He was born Sept. 8, 1911, in Bogue, Kan., to the late John and Lena Pearl (Mather) McGuire.
He is survived by two sons, Stephen McGuire and wife Trudy of Waco, and David Bruce McGuire and wife Jan of San Antonio; one daughter, Ruth Eads and husband Cecil of Kermit; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 19, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Kermit with the Rev. David Weyant officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons Ian McGuire and Kerry McGuire and great-grandsons Duncan Fabbri, Cameron Comer, Matthew Comer, Brian Pruett and Mitchell Pruett. Honorary pallbearers included Roy Peden, All Masons, Kermit Downtown Lyon's Club and Kermit Rotary Club.
Interment followed at Kermit Cemetery. Services were entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Kermit or to the Salvation Army.
Jerry McGuire was a man who was continually giving to others. He will be sorely missed.
