Sheryl Ann (Myers) Marshall

unknown - May 26, 2007

Longtime Routt County resident Sheryl Ann (Myers) Marshall died May 26, 2007, ending her journey of life. She was 62.
Sheryl was born in 1944 to Verna and Jacob Myers. She was born into a pioneer family that had come to the Yampa Valley from Kentucky by way of Missouri. She was blessed to have two younger sisters in her life. Sheryl was proud of her ancestors and the heritage she shared with them. She told many tales of the past to all who cared to listen.
At a very young age, Sheryl suffered from a near-fatal infection of Rheumatic fever. Her doctors didn't believe she would live to the age of 16. When she reached that milestone, he doctors told her that her damaged heart would not withstand the stresses of childbirth. She proved them wrong by having three children.
As the years passed, many more obstacles arose in her path. Each time, Sheryl persevered and, with the help of numerous doctors, nurses, caregivers, friends and family, she lived a good life of 62 years.
Sheryl married Willard B. Marshall Jr., in 1963 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Steamboat Springs. Sheryl's funeral services were held in this same small chapel May 31, 2007.
Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Verna and Jacob Myers.
Sheryl is survived by her sisters, Carol and Laurel; her aunt, Maxine; her cousin, MaryAnn; her husband, Willard Jr.; her children, Willard III, Shari and Debra; her grandchildren, Blake, Kimberly, Bradley, Karalynn, Charles and Rebecca; and the many others who knew and loved Sheryl who called her "family."
The family of Sheryl Ann (Myers) Marshall would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Mark McCaulley and all the staff at Yampa Valley Medical Center, Poudre Valley Hospital and the Doak Walker Care Center. Thanks for the extra time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Doak Walker Care Center in care of the Yampa Valley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 776090, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477.
