Former Hayden resident Maureene Virginia Murphy Miller died Jan. 10, 2007, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig. She was 82. Maureene Virginia Davidson was born on June 2, 1924, in Topeka, Kan., to Corin and Marjorie (Johnson) Davidson. She was raised in Kansas and in the Craig area where she graduated from Moffat County High School.
Maureene married Homer Murphy on June 20, 1942, in Craig and to this union three children were born. They raised their family at their home west of Hayden. Maureene was a homemaker and in earlier years worked as a dental hygienist. Maureene enjoyed reading and taking care of her yard. She also enjoyed crocheting. Homer died in 1986.
Maureene married her lifelong friend Leonard Miller on Jan. 6, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nev., and they returned to Craig where she lived until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ival and Coralee; her brother, Burt; and her husband, Homer Murphy.
Maureene is survived by her husband, Leonard Miller of Craig; sons, Dennis Murphy, Terry Murphy and his wife, Peggy, and Kevin Murphy and his wife, Jill, all of Hayden; grandchildren, Ron Jr., Teea, Cherissee and Mark; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Garrett, Darian, Tyler, Jessica, Ethan, Cheianne, Kayla and Quinn; sister, Effie Jean Medlen of Colorado Springs; brother, Lynn Davidson and his wife, Donna, of Fairbanks, Alaska; Leonard's children, Debbie Earls of Craig, Gary Miller and his wife, Terry, of Ouray, and Eugene Miller of Grand Junction; and Leonard's grandchildren, Chris and his wife, Jamie, Scott and his wife, Cathy, Tracy and her husband, Jake, Nick, Matt and his wife, Rebecca, Jennie and Jake.
