Elsie Conway

June 27, 1913 - November 15, 2007

Former Steamboat Springs resident Elsie Krueger Welsh Conway died Nov. 15, 2007, in Harrisonville, Mo. She lived in Steamboat Springs until 1933, at which time she married William (Bill) Welsh and moved to Montana.
Elsie was born June 27, 1913, in Grand Island, Neb., to Gustave Carl-Henry and Bertha Reese Krueger. She attended grade school and high school in Steamboat Springs. She furthered her education at Wheaton Christian College in Illinois.
Elsie was married to William (Bill) Mark Welsh for 56 years, until his death in 1989. She lived in Missoula, Mont., from 1933 until 1990, at which time she moved to Missouri to be near her daughter and family.
Preceding her in death were her son John William Welsh in 1958; first husband, William (Bill) Mark Welsh, in 1989; her sister Leona Krueger Zuschlag in 2000; and her second husband, Truman Conway, in 1998.
Survivors are her daughter, Valrie Jane and her husband Eddie Martello; granddaughter Jennifer and husband Phil Rogers; and two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Brodie Rogers all of Harrisonville, Mo.; as well as nephew Ed and wife Mary Zuschlag of Denver; two great nephews, Chris and wife Tracy and their children Thyme and Calvin Zuschlag of Stagecoach; and Matt and wife Rose Zuschlag and their children Amber and Abby of Auburn, Calif.
