Regina Wavilene Kelsay
January 26, 1921 - November 22, 2007
Former Yampa resident Regina Wavilene Kelsay passed away Nov. 22, 2007, at the Centennial Health Care Center in Greeley. She was 86.
Regina was born Jan. 26, 1921, in Flagstaff, Ariz., to Wiley and Olive Tomlinson. Her family later moved to Yampa, where she graduated from high school.
She married Richard Earl Shoup in Denver on Nov. 10, 1945, and they made their home and raised their children in Yampa. Richard passed away April 5, 1966. Regina would remarry to Donald G. Kelsay on July 10, 1970, in Yampa.
Regina began working at the post office in Yampa in 1966 and was later appointed postmaster, serving until her retirement in 1985. She was an active member of the Yampa Bible Church for many years, and was a 37-year member of the American Legion Auxillary. After their retirement, Don and Regina relocated to Greeley and enjoyed spending their winters in Yuma, Ariz.
She is survived by her husband, Don Kelsay, of Greeley; daughters Yvonne Baker of Oak Creek, and Linda Clark and her husband Dave of Greeley; grandchildren Dr. Janet Ladyga and her husband Lee of Bend, Ore.; Rusty Baker and his wife Jessica of Steamboat Springs; Megan Rossi and her husband Tommy of Yampa; and Chris and Shawn Clark, and his wife Kayla, all of Greeley; and sisters, Reba Wilson of Yampa, and Norene Walker of Newburgh, Ind. She also has four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Barbara Eicher and Loyce Huffstetler.
A visitation is from 2:30 to 4 p.m. tody at Stoddard Funeral Home in Greeley. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Yampa Bible Church.
