Patsy Marlene Wilhelm

Patsy Marlene (Truax) Wilhelm passed away Aug. 10, 2007. Patsy was born in November 1939 in Julesburg to Lloyd and Arlene Truax. Patsy's family moved to Routt County shortly after her birth in early 1940 and leased several ranches before purchasing a ranch on Elk River Road. Patsy was still living on a part of this ranch at the time of her death. Patsy married her high school sweetheart, Richard L. Wilhelm, on Nov. 5, 1956. They were happily married until the time of Richard's death in 1978.
Patsy is survived by her sons, C. Lynn Wilhelm and his wife, Missy, of Steamboat and Richard L. Wilhelm and his wife, Rebecca, of Steamboat; a daughter, Kimberly, and her husband, Donald Gittleson, of Steamboat; and sisters, Darlene Haight and Lorene Smedley. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Willy) Wilhelm, son David Wilhelm, brother Jerald Truax, and both parents.
Patsy was an active 4-H leader for many years while her children were involved and continued to enjoy 4-H through her grandchildren. The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Routt County 4-H scholarship fund, Box 772830, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477. Please write "Patsy Wilhelm" in the memo field.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at the Steamboat Christian Center. A lunch will follow at noon at Olympian Hall.
