Former Steamboat Springs resident Barbara Anne Barber passed away Aug. 1, 2007, at the St. Mary's Hospital and Medical Center in Grand Junction. She was 64.
Mrs. Barber entered this life July 13, 1943, in Steamboat Springs. She was the beloved daughter of George and Janet (Parks) Ficks. She was the loving wife of Cyril "Shorty" Barber of Grand Junction. They were united in marriage May 27, 1967, in Steamboat Springs. He survives. She was the loving mother of Kyle and his wife, Kim Barber, of Bremerton, Wash. She was the loving sister of Walter and his wife, Sheri Fick of Cincinnati. She was the fond grandmother of Brianna, Blake, Bryce, and Brennan Barber of Bremerton, Wash. She was the fond aunt of Kelly and Ryan Fick of Cincinnati.
Mrs. Barber enjoyed sewing, collecting dolls and keeping in close touch with family and friends across the miles.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 18, 2007, at the Calvary Bible Church, 629 27 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81506. Reverend Dennis Finnen will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Barber's honor to the Twin Peaks Bible Camp in care of the Calvary Bible Church. Callahan Edfast Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
