Jeffrey J. Keating

Part-time Steamboat Springs resident Jeffrey J. Keating passed away suddenly while jogging near his home in Delray Beach, Fla., on April 22, 2007. He was 57.
He was well loved and will be missed by many.
Jeffrey was born April 22, 1950, in Fitchburg, Mass., to Philip and Virginia Keating, grew up in Fitchburg and Ft. Lauderdale, graduated from Northeast High School in Ft. Lauderdale in 1968, and was proud to be a Florida Gator, class of 1972. He served as trust officer and head of the trust department for the First Bank and Trust of Boynton Beach and Delray Beach from 1972 to 1983, opened and operated a firm, Keating Investment Counselors, Inc., from 1983 to present and greatly enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating, skiing, hiking and piloting his Piper Saratoga.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Jeanine (Jonas); two sons, David, 26, of Lake Worth, and Richard, 22, of Delray Beach; daughter, Allison, 22, of Steamboat Springs; two brothers, Philip and his wife, Gizella Keating, of Boynton Beach, and Richard and his wife, Etta Lou Jess, of Weed, Calif.; sister, Priscilla and her husband, Bill Cameron of Novato, Calif.; aunt, Shirley Sharp of Naples, Fla.; mother in law, Audrey Jonas and her husband, John Strutt, of Crystal River, Fla.; sister in law, Carlyn and her husband, David Marshall, of Austin, Texas; nieces, Katie Cameron, of Novato, Calif., and Kelly Ann Jess of Massachusettes; nephews, Eric Marshall, of Austin, Texas, and Andrew and Kevin Cameron of Novato, Calif., Wesley Jess of Half Moon Bay, Calif., and Robert Jess of Sanibel, Fla.
A memorial service was held April 28, 2007, with a reception that followed at Saint Gregory's Episcopal Church in Boca Raton, Fla.
