Donna A. Courdway

Longtime Dexter resident Donna Courdway, known as "Gigi" by her grandsons, died at her daughter's home in Steamboat Springs on March 29, 2007, of complications from cancer. She was 72.
A survivor of a severe motorcycle crash at 20 years old that left her an amputee, Donna did not slow down. She was a strong woman who enjoyed life's simple joys and homemade spicy food.
Donna's exuberance for Christmas was unsurpassed. She spent most of the year shopping in preparation of garnishing her family with a heap of colorfully-wrapped Christmas gifts. She also loved to take walks on the beach and play card games with her family. Since 1998, Donna and her husband of 35 years, Bob Courdway, took motorhome trips from their home in Ann Arbor throughout the mainland U.S. Mostly accompanied by her two grandsons, Jay and Eric Trousil, these motor home trips were true adventures that became some of her families' most memorable vacations.
She is predeceased in death by her son, Brett.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Courdway; a brother, Don DeMarco; a daughter, Cheri Trousil; a son-in-law, Ed Trousil; and two grandsons, Eric and Jay Trousil.
A memorial service will be held in Ann Arbor, Mich., at a later date.
