Former Oak Creek resident Sarah Cecelia Moore Boyd passed away Nov. 7, 2006 in Provo, Utah. She was 94.
She was born Aug. 31, 1912, in Gorham, Kan., to Galen Andrew and Susan McGovern Moore.
In 1919, she moved with her family to Oak Creek and attended schools in Routt County.
She married Fred Boyd on Aug. 3, 1935, in Glenwood Springs.
She worked as a nurse at the Oak Creek Hospital in Oak Creek and also as a nurse at Routt Memorial Hospital in Steamboat Springs. In 1951, she moved with her family to Provo, Utah and was employed as an L.P.N. at Utah State Hospital in Provo for 17 years.
After retirement, she worked in several nursing homes in the area. She loved her family above and beyond all things and enjoyed her pretty yard, flowers and happiness in the home until failing health problems came along. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Orem, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Boyd; son, Fred Boyd Jr.; her parents; sister; and three brothers.
Sarah is survived by her sons, Ernest L. Boyd of Orem, Utah, and Charles Boyd of Salt Lake City; daughter in-law, Diamantina Boyd of Lehi, Utah; two granddaughters, Noelle Melinda Boyd and Susan Rebeca Boyd; three grandsons, Brian Boyd, Steven Boyd and Daniel Boyd; four great-grandchildren, Chantel Sarah Boyd, Brittany Sarah Boyd, Lance Boyd and Felecia Potter; one great-great-granddaughter, Angelina Potter; and one niece.
The family wishes to extend their special love and prayers to Sarah's many good friends and neighbors in Lakeview, Utah.
