Iowa resident Margaret E. Geer passed away March 10, 2007, at her home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was 96.
Margaret's son, Bob Geer, is a longtime Steamboat Springs resident, and Margaret visited Steamboat often.
She was born April 29, 1910, in Farlin, Iowa, near Churdan, Green County, Iowa.
She was a good friend to many in the Fort Dodge area and was the chairwoman of the Webster County Republican Committee. She loved to raise flowers and vegetables, baked fabulous cookies and, true to her Irish heritage, enjoyed a glass of whiskey and a cigarette every evening until her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Wilda McGee; her husband, Larry, who died in 1973; her brothers, Lawrence, Maurice and Bob McGee; and her sister, Marjorie Cooley.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Judy, of Tempe, Ariz.; her son, Bob, of Steamboat Springs; four nieces and four nephews.
She will be missed by all who loved her.
In accordance with her wishes, no services are planned at this time and a private family burial will be arranged at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge.
