YVMC board names 2 new members

— The Yampa Valley Medical Center Board of Trustees has named two new members.

Rich Lowe is past president and chief executive officer of XPEDX, a division of International Paper Co. He spent his career in various divisions of International Paper.

Lowe graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in political science and completed the executive program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2000.

In Steamboat Springs, he also serves as a SCORE business counselor. He has been vice chairman of the Steamboat Springs Economic Development Council and is president of the Yampa Valley Housing Authority Board of Directors and secretary of Old Town Hot Springs Board of Directors.

Gary Hay held numerous leadership roles with Cessna Aircraft Company in a 36-year career, including marketing and sales, customer service, strategic planning and corporate communications. After retiring as chairman and chief executive officer of Cessna, Hay formed GWH Enterprises, LLC, a management-consultant company.

He earned a degree in business administration from Wichita State University and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He holds a commercial pilot certificate.

Hay has held board directorships with Wesley Medical Center, United Way and other organizations in Wichita, Kan., including the county economic development council.

Lowe and Hay are residents of Steamboat Springs.

The 13-member YVMC board volunteers to serve as the governing body of the nonprofit hospital for purposes of compliance licensing, regulatory and accreditation requirements. More information is available at http://www.yvmc.org/board.
