— Recently opened YampaCare Family Medicine has allowed Yampa Valley Medical Center to increase its services in Moffat County.

In a collaboration between YVMC and Steamboat Springs’ Yampa Valley Medical Associates, the business first opened in early April as part of the Yampa Valley Medical Center Specialty Clinic already operating out of 651 Yampa Ave.

Rosie Kern, YVMC’s marketing and communications manager, said the new services are an effort to provide additional centralized family medicine to Moffat County.

“Some of our physicians had been traveling to see patients (in Craig) anyway, so we thought it would be a great partnership,” she said.

Among the staff are physicians Sarah Hopfenbeck, Michelle Jimerson and Charlie Petersen, as well as nurse practitioners Jona Ely, DNP-C, and Greg Holm, Ph.D., NP.

Ely also will run the program Ideal You through the facility. She and Holm are part of the medical staff with Little Snake River Clinic in Baggs, Wyoming, a clinic that came under YVMC’s operations last month.

YampaCare offers primary care for all ages, lab tests and X-rays, accepting all major insurance plans. Business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 970-824-1020.
