Yampa Valley Data Partners report lists top employers for region

— Yampa Valley Data Partners has released its report on the top 10 employers in Routt and Moffat counties.

The data represents employment information as of December 2012.

According to the report, the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade reports that there were 20,841 full- and part-time jobs in Routt County in 2012. Moffat County recorded 7,512 jobs during that time period.



For Routt County, the top 10 employers represented 22 percent of the total jobs while they accounted for 30 percent in Moffat.

Routt County’s top industries were recreation and tourism, public sector, health care and energy. Moffat was led by energy, education, public sector, retail and health care.



Peabody Energy was the top employer in Moffat County, followed by Moffat County School District and Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association.

Yampa Valley Medical Center led full-time employment in Routt County with 582 jobs. Steamboat Springs School District, 282 full-time jobs, and Routt County, 233 full-time jobs, followed. Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. had 210 full-time employees but jumped to 1,750 jobs when total employment was calculated, which includes part-time, seasonal and other employment statuses.
