West Grand rolls over Hayden football

The winning streak for the Hayden High School football team was snapped in a big way Friday as the squad lost a road game at West Grand.

The Mustangs beat the Tigers, 50-0.

West Grand entered the game undefeated and ranked No. 4 in the most recent CHSAANow.com poll. It showed why as it faced off against Hayden, now 3-2.

Hayden's only previous loss was a game against Justice forfeited after it had won the game on the field, 56-12.

The Mustangs racked up nearly 400 yards on the ground, scoring three touchdowns apiece in both the first and second quarters.

West Grand laid a strong claim to the No. 1 spot in the league with the win, but Hayden will try to establish its own place in the standings when it plays at 7 p.m. at home Friday against Rangely, 1-4 this season.
