October 19, 2012
Steamboat Springs — After a storm with heavy precipitation hit the Steamboat area Oct. 13 and 14, Routt County looks to be in for a dry extended forecast.
The expected temperatures for Steamboat are predicted to be in the 60 degree range for the highs and in the 30s at night with some cloud cover well into next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Steamboat is still below the one-inch threshold for precipitation in October with only a slight chance for some rain Wednesday, according to Tom Renwick with the National Weather Service in Grand Junction.
Storm energy in the Pacific Northwest currently is on track to miss Northwest Colorado.
The past couple colder nights will be break into temperatures in the mid-30s as a westerly to southwesterly flow brings warm air to the area, Renwick said.
