Warm, sunny weekend ahead for annual Taste of South Routt
June 27, 2013
Steamboat Springs — Decker Park in Oak Creek will be full Saturday with music, food, vendors and neighbors from all across South Routt.
The annual Taste of South Routt is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. at the town's park.
"It's really a pretty traditional event," said organizer Julie Hoff. "It's really just about celebrating all the great stuff that makes South Routt a great place to live."
The warm, sunny weekend will hold 26 different vendors, with nine of those serving food, and a number of bands. Throwdown is headliner and will play from 4 to 6 p.m.
"There's several booths that do kids games," Hoff said. "There's door prizes. There's horseshoes. Usually, someone gets a volleyball game going."
It's a dollar to get into the event, which includes a raffle ticket for door prizes. The mystery beers at the beer garden will be going for $2 apiece. There also will be a silent auction, and the familiar tractor train will pull kids around the park throughout the afternoon.
The tent is being delivered Friday, fencing will go up that night and vendors will start setting up by Saturday morning.
"The rest of it is just finalizing getting the park ready to go," Hoff said.
