Topping the news this morning, a report has released details of the ski area’s financials. The Steamboat Ski Area generated sufficient revenues last year to cash flow $27.5 million, according to a story that ran in the Denver Post Thursday morning. Based on that number, a source for the story projects a purchase price between $220 million and $275 million, an approximate range previously reported by Steamboat Today. Routt County voters have no reason to worry about the security of their votes when they go to the polls Nov. 7, county officials say. Although state officials spent Wednesday and Thursday in Denver District Court defending the security of four brands of electronic voting machines used in the state, Clerk and Recorder Kay Weinland said she has the utmost confidence in the voting system that worked without a hitch in the Aug. 8 primary. In sports, the Soroco volleyball team dropped three games to North Park Thursday. The Wildcats took a 25-19, 25-4, 25-13 win over the Rams. The Soroco football team takes on West Grand tonight, and Hayden will be playing Paonia. Look for those stories in Saturday’s Steamboat Today.
