U10, U12 Alpine athletes bring home top finishes

— Several Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club U10 and U12 athletes notched solid finishes during the weekend at a Rocky Mountain Division event at Sunlight Mountain Resort.

On Saturday, in a SkillsQuest competition where four skiing skills were scored and judged, Steamboat earned two podium finishes.

In the U12 boys, Kyler Armstrong was first, and Nicholas Richeda was third.

Other top finishers included Ellie Blair in seventh in the U10 girls, Riley Smith sixth in the U12 girls and Abi Berlet ninth in the U12 girls.

In Sunday's two slalom races, Ryli Adrian paced Steamboat with a third-place finish in her first run in the U10 girls.

Spencer Richeda was 10th in the U10 boys, Smith was eighth in the U12 girls, and Bode Flanigan was ninth in the U12 boys.

In the second run, Adrian was sixth in the U10 girls, Alden Wade was seventh in the U10 boys, and Smith was 10th in the U10 girls.
