U.S. Nordic ski team 7th in Austria

— The U.S. Nordic Combined Ski Team finished seventh today in a team event at a FIS World Cup in Seefeld, Austria.

The team, comprising Steamboat Springs skiers, was originally scheduled to compete Sunday in Schonach, Germany, but the event was rained out. The delay allowed Johnny Spillane and Todd Lodwick to join Bryan and Taylor Fletcher.

Norway finished first, followed by Austria and France.

The U.S. was seventh after the jump, putting the team a minute back in the cross-country event behind the jump-leading French team.

The athletes are scheduled to battle again Saturday and Sunday with a pair of individual events in Seefeld.
