U.S. News and World Report has selected Steamboat Springs as one of its top 15 small towns to visit in the U.S., according to a ranking released by the media organization this week.

Steamboat Springs was ranked seventh on the list, which also included the resort communities of Breckenridge (ranked second), Park City, Utah (ranked fourth) and Lake Tahoe (ranked fifth).

The small town taking the top spot in the annual ranking was Sonoma, California, a northern California city in the heart of the state’s wine country.

The list described Steamboat Springs as a town with “excellent ski conditions, a community of friendly locals and geothermal hot springs that are perfect after a long day spent on the slopes.”
