3:08 a.m. Police arrested a 27-year-old Navajo, Ariz., man on suspicion of driving under the influence, impeding traffic and open container, during a traffic stop at U.S. Highway 40 and Routt County Road 129.

7:36 a.m. A man reported that a strange man approached his daughter in the 800 block of Yampa Street the previous day.

12:11 p.m. Police and Division of Wildlife officers were called to a report of a bear in garage in the 300 block of Cherry Drive. DOW agents chased the bear away.



12:38 p.m. Police were called to a hit-and-run in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue. The other party ended up turning themselves in and was cited for careless driving.

1:15 p.m. Police, the Routt County coroner and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to a report of a death on a bike trail on Emerald Mountain. Two bikers found the body of an American Fork, Utah, man on the side of the trail. The coroner suspects the man died of natural causes.



4:36 p.m. Deputies, Colorado State Patrol troopers and Steamboat Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to a report of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Rabbit Ears Pass with minor injuries.

5:24 p.m. Police and deputies were called to a report of a hit-and-run in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue, in which officers arrested a 47-year-old Steamboat Springs woman on suspicion of DUI, careless driving causing bodily injury, failure to report accident, failure to remain on scene, failure to give information after an accident, failure to give information after an accident causing bodily injury and failure to notify of change of address within 30 days. Officers said the woman hit a man as he was putting his child in a car. The man suffered minor injuries and his car sustained moderate damage.

6:51 p.m. Police and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue were called to a report of a gas leak in the 300 block of Little Moon Trail after a woman drove into her propane line.

9:13 p.m. Police were called to the 100 block of Ninth Street for a report of a theft of a tip jar from a business several days earlier. Officers arrested a 20-year-old Steamboat Springs man on suspicion of theft and a 22-year-old Steamboat Springs man on suspicion of harassment and theft.

11 p.m. Deputies and troopers were called to a report of an intoxicated male harassing juveniles at a business in the 200 block of Jefferson Avenue in Hayden. The man left on his own but was seen with a handgun. Deputies and troopers located him at mile marker 113. Deputies arrested the 33-year-old Steamboat Springs man on suspicion of DUI, harassment, menacing, prohibited use of weapons and possession of Schedule 2 controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
