12:26 a.m. A 30-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing after he reportedly walked up to two people at a bar and threatened that he “was going to kill them with a knife.” Police said the man had been trying to start a fight with the two people earlier in the night. When the man approached the people, he had a “silver object” in his hand, though police could not find a knife when they searched the area.

1:49 a.m. Two drunken mini-scooter riders near Ninth and Yampa streets were given citations for being minors in possession.

9:34 a.m. A gas skip worth $90 was reported in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue.



11:33 a.m. A man in the 1300 block of Sparta Plaza reportedly heard a child screaming and crying and was concerned the child was being abused. Police checked on the boy, and he was crying because he had been hit in the head with a baseball.

1:36 p.m. A car reportedly hit a deer on U.S. Highway 40 near the Steamboat Golf Course. Police said there was glass on the road.



1:52 p.m. A riding lawnmower worth $1,200 reportedly was stolen from the 2700 block of Downhill Drive.

4:41 p.m. A 23-year-old Steamboat Springs man reportedly lost control of the car he was driving near River and Mount Werner roads and rolled his car. Colorado State Patrol troopers said the man was speeding as he entered a curve, went off the road, hit an embankment and then rolled. The car hit a tree before coming to a rest, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and not having insurance.

5:47 p.m. A 33-year-old Steamboat Springs man facing drug-possession and illegal-weapon-possession charges was arrested at his trial on suspicion of tampering with a witness. Police said the man reportedly called one of the witnesses during a lunch break and told the witness he didn’t want him to testify. The man was taken to the Routt County Jail at the conclusion of the trial.

5:54 p.m. A 51-year-old Arizona man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault after he reportedly hit a 12-year-old boy in the arm with a baseball bat and pushed the boy. Police said the boy was playing a game of Wiffle ball in the 1900 block of Ski Time Square Drive and reportedly hit a woman in the head with one of the balls. The woman’s husband became enraged and hit the boy.

6:22 p.m. A 28-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving after he attempted to order food from a fast food drive-through in the 600 block of Snapdragon Way.

9:34 p.m. A 31-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct at a free concert at the Steamboat Ski Area.

10:22 p.m. A drunken woman reportedly was harassing customers at a restaurant in the 1700 block of Central Park Drive.

10:38 p.m. A mountain bike reportedly was stolen from a rack in the 1900 block of Ski Time Square Drive.

11:11 p.m. A drunken man with no shoes reportedly was walking around the 1800 block of Ski Time Square Drive.

11:21 p.m. Two people reportedly were yelling and screaming at each other and “milling around” in the 1500 block of Shadow Run Court. Officers mediated the situation.
