Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:23 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of loud music coming from a bar in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. It was quiet when officers arrived.

12:49 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear in the 2500 block of Après Ski Way.



12:53 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a suspicious incident near Soroco High School. A 19-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, driving under restraint and careless driving.

2:30 a.m. Officers stopped a car at Lincoln Avenue and Shield Drive for making an improper left turn, and arrested a 40-year-old Texas man on suspicion of DUI.



4:04 a.m. West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person having an unknown medical issue in the 300 block of South Shelton Lane.

4:29 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious person on Fish Creek Falls Road. The man was taken to detox.

8:22 a.m. Deputies were called to a report of an abandoned tent that had a strong odor coming from it at Dry Lake Campground. No one was in the tent, but some personal items were found.

8:27 a.m. Deputies were called to a report of a neighbor who had been screaming obscenities throughout the night in the 31000 block of Willow Lane.

9:55 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a car tire that had been damaged in the 2300 block of Val D’Isere Circle.

11:12 a.m. Deputies were called to a report of 10 female cyclists riding three abreast on Routt County Road 36.

12:08 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a joint and condom wrapper found at a school playground in the 27200 block of Brandon Circle. They were disposed of, and deputies plan to do more patrols in the area.

12:09 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken man at a church in the 500 block of Oak Street. He was taken to detox.

1:23 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken driver in the first block of Anglers Drive. The car could not be found.

3:05 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident at a grocery store in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue. An employee was posing as another employee’s probation officer, and it ended up being some sort of prank.

3:01 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to a report of a trailer on fire in Dream Island Mobile Home Park. The fire started in the bedroom, but it was not known what started it. Three boys were able to escape the fire, and a 16-year-old cut himself after breaking a window.

3:22 p.m. Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife officers were called to a report of a bear in the 2800 block of West End Avenue.

3:44 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of fraud in the 23500 block of C.R. 15 near Yampa. A person reported buying things and never receiving them.

5:14 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a missing 9-year-old child in the 31500 block of Gooseberry Lane near Steamboat. The child wandered away from home and was found about 10 minutes later.

5:34 p.m. North Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to a report of a wildfire at a ranch near the Wyoming border.

7:07 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a car stolen in the 100 block of East Highland Street in Oak Creek. The incident is under investigation.

9:19 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 1400 block of Pine Grove Road. An intoxicated man reported finding a hole in the ceiling above his bed. Officers said there was nothing suspicious about the hole.

9:55 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person with trauma on the Yampa River Core Trail.

10:04 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a purse found at Howelsen Hill.

10:28 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear between Pine and Oak Streets near 11th Street.

10:42 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person having an unknown medical problem in the 2200 block of Après Ski Way.

10:59 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person that lost their driver’s license.

11:55 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear in the 200 block of Anglers Drive.
