Terry Smith Crowner

The great-grandson of homesteaders, the William Crowners and the William Reeds, Terry S. Crowner was born Sept. 26, 1938, in Oak Creek, Colorado to Flora and Earl Crowner. During his youth, he lived on the Crowner Ranch, located between Yampa and Toponas and attended school in Yampa; Yuma, Arizona; and Fort Collins. He married Susi Harris in Steamboat Springs in 1959. One son, Kip, was born in 1961. Terry was a coal miner and a rancher. He worked 37 years at the Edna Mine as a truck driver, cat skinner and reclamation foreman and helped his dad and uncle operate the Crowner Ranch. He loved to collect John Deere models and go four-wheeling, but most of all, he loved driving truck and hauling produce or hay. Terry is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, uncles and a nephew. He is survived by Susi, his wife of 57 years; son Kip and Margaret of Centennial, Colorado; grandchildren Melissa, Rachel and Scott; his brother, Gary and Judy of Grand Junction, Colorado; three aunts; a niece and a host of cousins.
