If you go:
What: 5th annual Summer Luau
When: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 18
Where: Old Town Hot Springs, 136 Lincoln Ave.
Old Town Hot Springs will host its fifth annual Summer Luau fundraising event from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
"It's entertainment for the whole family," said Nick Esares, Old Town Hot Springs marketing director."This event is something we've seen people have a lot of fun at, and it is a great way to celebrate Father's Day while also contributing to the support of a facility that is benefiting so many people."
The nonprofit center for health and wellness in Steamboat Springs will feature dinner for the whole family including a pig roast and sides, beer and wine, full pools access, unlimited water slide and Wibit usage, music and a silent auction featuring local prize packages.
Esares said the money raised from this event will go toward the recently launched capital campaign for a facility expansion and renovation.
Though Old Town Hot Springs is not supported by public funds, Esares said the nonprofit is able to generate enough revenue to sustain operations but it needs financial support for planned capital upgrades such as the major project that is planned to add 15,000 square feet to the health facility.
"We don't receive public funds like many other cities that have a facility like this," he said. "But yet, we still provide a benefit to so many people and local groups.
"The town is growing as well, as more tourists are coming to town," Esares said. "The expansion and renovation project will allow us to provide more meaningful opportunities to visitors as well as local groups and organizations for years to come."
Tickets are available now at the Old Town Hot Springs front desk. Advanced prices are $35 for adults, $10 for youth and $85 for a family of four. Ages 5 and under are free.
