Steamboat voters reject marijuana business bans, approve air service tax

— The Routt County Clerk and Recorder’s Office has released the first of two vote tallies from the 2011 election. These first totals represent more than 7,000 votes. The Clerk and Recorder’s Office estimates that the second and final tally will include less than 100 additional ballots.

Referendum 2B (winter air program sales tax)

Yes: 61 percent (2,469 votes)

No: 39 percent (1,601 votes)

Referendum 2C (Steamboat Springs medical marijuana business ban)

Yes: 40 percent (1,628 votes)

No: 60 percent (2,423 votes)
