Steamboat Springs Swim Team competes in Denver

— The Steamboat Springs Swim Team had four swimmers compete in Denver during the weekend.

In the Silver State competition at the University of Denver, Lily Starkey and Parker Kortas were among more than 1,000 swimmers to compete.

Starkey improved her time in the 100 fly by a second, and Kortas dropped eight seconds in her 200 IM and two seconds in her 200 breast.

Kortas will join teammate Frank Ruppel at the Colorado Age Group State competition from March 8 to 10 in Fort Collins.

In the afternoon, Madison Ruppel, Samantha Terranova and Taylor Kortas competed at the Colorado Senior meet. Taylor Kortas had her best times in the 100 and 200 breast, and Terranova had her best time in the 100 back.
