• The preliminary hearing of Lisa Lesyshen, the Routt County woman accused of killing her 9-year-old son before attempting suicide May 29, was held Wednesday in Denver, and emotional testimony was offered by the victim’s father and police detectives. Lisa Lesyshen bound over for trial on 1st-degree murder charges



• Meteorologist Joel Gratz, of the snow forecasting Web page http://www.opensnow.com, said the evolving forecast was trending toward a more active storm system with the possibility of 6 inches of snow or more by Sunday afternoon. Series of moderate storm fronts heads for the Yampa Valley

• On Thursday, when the Oak Creek Town Board switches to its winter meeting time of 6 p.m., Rep. • It was a “go” and a “go slow” Wednesday night meeting for the Parks and Recreation Commission. The group voted unanimously to endorse a master plan for Emerald Mountain Park while also hearing arguments for and against allowing fat bikes on Howelsen Hill. • The International Mountain Biking Association announced this week that Steamboat Springs will play host in August to the 2014 IMBA World Summit, an event that is expected to bring more than 400 mountain bike riders to town from around the world.
