Steamboat Springs — Steamboat Springs Police Department officers rode in golf carts to the 12th hole of the Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club on Sunday afternoon to mediate a heated argument between golfers that started over the placement of flags in the holes.
Steamboat Springs police Sgt. John McCartin said officers were called to the course at 2:33 p.m. after a woman from Steamboat Springs allegedly punched a man from Denver.
McCartin said the woman was upset because the man’s golfing party was "not putting the flags back in the holes properly."
"They had a verbal argument, and someone got punched," McCartin said.
He said that the man who was punched didn’t require medical attention and that no charges were pursued as a result of the incident.
