Steamboat Springs — Steamboat Springs Police Department officers arrested two men in bizarre incidents early Wednesday.
At 2:51 a.m., police were called to Palo Verde Lane, near Fish Creek Falls Road and Tamarack Drive, and arrested 33-year-old Bryan Allen Young. Sgt. Rich Brown said a man reportedly invited some friends to his house, and Young got drunk and would not leave the house.
After the man got Young out of the house, Young reportedly banged on the door and said he had left a hat inside. When the man opened the door to return the hat, Young reportedly punched him in the face and ended up running away.
Officers found Young, described as a transient based in Steamboat, and arrested him on suspicion of third-degree trespassing, third-degree assault and an outstanding warrant.
Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders took the man at the home to Yampa Valley Medical Center, where he got a couple of stitches, Brown said.
At about 5:15 a.m., police were called to Old Town, near Sixth and Pine streets, for a report of gunshots. As officers checked the area, they heard another gunshot and found Peter Logan Laskarin, 37, in his yard.

Brown said Laskarin had reportedly thrown a laptop computer down the stairs off his deck, and when officers arrested him they found a shotgun and smelled gunpowder.
Brown said Laskarin was uncooperative and intoxicated and would not give officers his name. Officers arrested him on suspicion of prohibited use of a weapon because he was intoxicated and disorderly conduct.
Brown said it doesn't appear that Laskarin shot his computer or any other item, and officers suspect he shot the gun into the air.
