Steamboat Nordic teams place in top 3

The Steamboat Springs High School Nordic teams each placed in the top three Saturday at a meet in Breckenridge.

The meet originally was scheduled in Carbondale but was moved because of a lack of snow.

The boys team finished second in the 5-kilometer skate race, 15 points behind Summit County High School.

Jake Barker led the Sailors in seventh place. Peter White was 16th, and Alec Schaffer was 22nd.

The girls team finished third behind Vail Mountain School and Summit.

Martha Anderson was Steamboat's top finisher in seventh. Sarah White was 14th, and Lesley Myller was 19th.

The team next competes Feb. 11 at Aspen.
