Steamboat girls lacrosse falls at Durango

— The process continued Saturday for the Steamboat Springs High School girls lacrosse team. The Sailors traveled to play at Durango and came away with a lopsided loss, 16-2.

Coach Betsy Frick said her shorthanded team has continued to make progress.

"We continue to improve every game," she said.

Steamboat trailed, 14-0, in the first half, then played to an even 2-2 in the second.

The Sailors dropped to 1-6 with the loss. Next up is a trip Thursday to play against Eagle Valley, which Steamboat beat, 10-9, last month in Steamboat Springs.
