Steamboat girls basketball falls to Durango at districts
February 22, 2013
Maggie Crouch grabbed an offensive rebound and scored in the final minute of regulation Friday, but the Steamboat Springs High School girls basketball team broke down defensively in an overtime period and fell Friday, 54-49, against Durango.
"We didn't play very consistently at all. We didn't play together very well, and we had mental breakdowns on both ends of the floor that were glaringly obvious," coach John Ameen said. "It was stuff that should have happened on the first weekend of the season, not now. So, that was very frustrating."
Nikki Fry scored 17 points, and Maggie Crouch had 11. Mikaila Jegtvig had 11 rebounds.
The squad plays again Saturday against Eagle Valley.
